I have 22 years teaching experience, 2nd grade, 4th grade and 6th grade: My teaching skills include Orton-Gillingham training through the Michigan Dyslexia Institute. I implemented the techniques learned through this training in my classroom for 22 years and have had much success with helping struggling readers learn to read. Orton-Gillingham uses a phonetic, multi-sensory approach. Students who have had limited success learning to read often have amazing success with this approach, and I love watching their joy at finally 'getting it'.
